US Open Tennis 2019 (so far)

The US Open 2019 is the 139th  edition of tennis, fourth and final huge event of the year. It is played at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Centre in Flushing Meadows – Corona Park of Queens in New York City, New York, United States. This tournament falls under the Grand Slam category. It consists of, men’s and women’s singles and doubles draw as well as mixed double events. There are also singles and doubles for both, boys and girls (aged under 18) falling in Grade A category of the tournament. There are singles and doubles wheelchair tennis events for men, women, and quads.

The tournament takes place in hard courts and played on a series of 15 courts with DecoTurf surface, including the three existing main show courts – Arthur Ashe Stadium, Louis Armstrong Stadium, and Grandstand.

Semifinals: Rafael Nadal vs Matteo Berrettini

Evening session; the second match in Arthur Ashe Stadium after 5:30 p.m. It will be the champion vs challenger in second men’s semifinal at the 2019 US Open as 18th time Grand Slam Champion looks forward to reaching his 5th career US Open final against first-time Slam semi-finalist Matteo Berrettini of Italy. This pair will be playing against each other for the first time after contrasting roads to the US Open semi-finals.

Nadal received a walkover from Thanasi Kokkinakis in the 2nd round and has dropped only one set. Berrettini has been taken to 4 sets in each of his first 3 matches, was also taken to a distance in a dramatic five-set quarterfinal against Gael Monfils.

Finals-

 Mixed Doubles: H. Chan (TPE), M. Venus (NZL) vs B. Mattek-Sands (USA), J.Murray (GBR)

Predictions show that Mattek Sands and Murray might win this match. J.Murray won 2 matches in one day to reach the US Open mixed doubles final and the men’s double semis.

“We were on fire,” said Murray, who won the 2018 title with Mattek-Sands.

After 4:00 p.m. Women’s Singles-Final: B. Andreescu (CAN) vs S. Williams (USA).

  1. Williams will be aiming for her 24th Grand Slam singles title, which would tie Margaret Court for the record. Whereas Andreescu will be playing her first major final. The pair has faced-off once in the past at this year’s Rogers Cup final and Williams retired because of her injury during trailing 3-1 in the first set.

Keys for Andreescu by Stanley Kay: If Andreescu treats this match like almost any match, she can win this match-to any extent.
